Employment History
Sept 2008 – Present. Fidessa plc. Seconded to Societe Generale,
London.
Position: Development team leader.
- Societe Generale have a ‘Hosted Enterprise’ Fidessa solution
with a full suite of Fidessa applications installed in London, New York and
Tokyo/Hong Kong. The platform provides equity and derivative trading access
for PT, Algorithmic, HFT, care, DMA and DSA flow to the major global exchange
venues.
- Main responsibility is leading an on-site Fidessa development team tasked
with providing ongoing development of the existing Fidessa trading system
and providing additional/enhanced functionality through new development work
and upgrades.
- Crucial to the role is project management, impact management (both technical
and operational), cost evaluation, resource management.
- Involved in the replacement of many incumbent systems with Fidessa technology
requiring deep understanding of existing workflow and how they can be replicated
in Fidessa.
- Maintained close ties with the Fidessa development teams to collaboratively
design new Fidessa products and technology in partnership with Societe Generale
(Derivatives trading functionality, ANALYTICS, PORTAL, NAVIGATOR).
- Responsible for the continuous performance evaluation of the entire system

Designed and built the following functionality:
- Algorithmic engine compliance pre-processor. Written in TCL on a dedicated
AMMA server instance. Performance focused design needed to add negligible
latency to the orders.
- Client order generator to consolidate electronically created trades and
merge them into orders at the end of the trading day.
- FIX based interface between Fidessa and Indian markets (NSE and BSE)
plus additional Fidessa components to satisfy Indian sales traders requirements.
- Multiple components for the delivery of a Fidessa OMS to the Australian
Equity division.
- Enhancements to facilitate the migration of the existing single-hub (global)
Fidessa to a multi-hub (regional) solution for Asia/Australia.
- FIX interface to a custom CTAC-based allocation matching system.
Oct 2001 – Aug 2007. Fidessa plc. Hosted Services.
Position: Fidessa Hosted European Trading Platform: Service
Delivery Manager.
- Promoted several times from initial role as a hosted systems implementer
to a senior implementer and ultimately to a delivery manager.
- Primary role was to assure the technical delivery of Fidessa hosted solutions
to the client. Including management of the hardware installation, Fidessa
software implementation, loading of appropriate static data, connectivity
to markets and other data sources, network infrastructure, third-party interfaces
and the customer specific software requirements.
- The role required excellent business knowledge of the end users underlying
requirements as well as excellent technical knowledge of system components
and constraints.
- Provided hands-on assistance to the team in order to ensure the successful
completion of a project.
- Provided project costing and estimating as well as division-wide responsibility
for streamlining of implementation procedures (both technical and operational).
- Managed and implemented several multi-region projects (US, UK and Asian
based systems). Involved overseas travel for extended periods to set up the
infrastructure (technical and operational) of an entirely new ‘hosted
Fidessa' department in Hong Kong.
